Jessie J hits back at trolls who judged her for having a caesarean in powerful post

Jessie J has hit back at people who have judged her for having a caesarean.

The Price Tag singer, who welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world last week, opened up to her 13.1 million Instagram followers about having to undergo a C-section to give birth to her first child.

Alongside a video of herself in a hospital gown preparing for the birth of her son, Jessie explained that she'd "spent 9 months prepping for a natural birth" but was told she'd need a caesarean.

"I had a scan at a few days off of 40 weeks and he was completely the wrong way around and stuck as he was a little chunkier than your average and long," she wrote. "I did everything to try and turn him for 2 months but he said 'Nah mum I wanna make an entrance out the roof, not the front door'."

The 35-year-old went on to tell her fans that doctors had advised her to have a c-section for the "safest birth" possible.

"I had a birth and it was everything I wanted because I got him at the end of it, that’s all that matters," she finished alongside a white heart and bubble emoji.

Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison sent her support in the comments saying: "Such a powerful message… and such an amazing woman."

However, since getting candid with her social media followers, Jessie felt the need to defend herself and other C-sections mums.

"I don't think I realised the impact my post would have on so many women who have felt ashamed or guilt from having a c-section," she wrote against a black background on her Instagram stories. "Planned or emergency. If no one has told you I will. It is by no means the easy way out. It is a birth."

"Politely f**k anyone who makes you feel anything different. You had a BELLY BIRTH," Jessie added. "Whether it was a choice or not you did or had to go what was right for your baby and for you to be healthy and arrive safely. NOTHING ELSE MATTERS."

The London star went on to say: "Hugging you all. We did it. We DID IT!!! And… THANK YOU for the love and support you have shown me throughout this whole process. I will only focus on that. Having a child has shifted my perspective and energy completely."

"I actively choose to only focus on the people who get it and support me. Everything else is background noise. I embrace my new life, my new body, my new world with no apologies. I will be on the beach with my body on show, I've missed too many moments in life caring about what people will say or think," she finished.

Jessie has remained private about her son's father after she tried to have a baby on her own but heartbreakingly suffered a miscarriage.

However, she posted a tribute to him on her Instagram after the birth of their son.

"I met this man weeks after my miscarriage in 2021, like a beam of light," she explained. "It was a whirlwind of love and a miracle that we fell pregnant naturally with not one issue."

"He didn’t let go of my hand this day, and I wouldn’t be able to go through it without him," Jessie gushed. "The calm to my crazy. The peace to my fear. The Daddy to my baby. Thank you.”
