Jonnie Irwin goes on family holiday to Spain

Jonnie Irwin has celebrated his milestone 50th birthday, exactly a year after he revealed he had terminal lung cancer and was given six months to live two years earlier.

The television presenter is enjoying a sunny birthday in Costa Del Sol, Spain with his wife Jessica Holmes and their sons, four-year-old Rex and three-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac.

Speaking to HELLO!, Jonnie said: “I feel really privileged to be able to celebrate my birthday looking at blue skies and with sand between my toes.

“I had an early birthday party at the start of the year because I didn’t think I’d make it.

“It was like being at my own wake; lots of fun, lots of dancing. But here I am. I view it as a complete triumph.”

“It’s so special and being away with my wife and kids for my 50th is brilliant.”

The dad-of-three was diagnosed with lung cancer back in 2020, and since then he has had to endure chemotherapy as the disease spread to his liver and brain.
