Joss Stone welcomes baby girl with boyfriend Cody DaLuz

Joss Stone is now a mum after welcoming her first baby with her musician boyfriend Cody DaLuz, naming her daughter Violet Melissa.

The 33-year-old announced her new arrival during a Facebook Live alongside Cody on Sunday night.

‘I’ve a very special little bun that I’ve been making for…oh, took about nine months, and it’s cooked! It’s ready! So here’s one we made earlier,’ Joss said, as Cody then brought their newborn – who is three days old – into the frame.

‘She’s so sweet! This is Violet Melissa DaLuz.’

Joss explained little Violet Melissa was breech, which meant the singer had to have a C-section, joking: ‘Which was…delightful.’

The Super Duper Love singer revealed she was pregnant when she was at 17 weeks in October, sharing she had ‘just stopped being really sick all the time’.

‘Isn’t it mad when you’ve got someone growing inside of you? Jeez.’

During an episode of her podcast A Cuppa Happy, she confessed she was scared to give birth.

‘My boyfriend kept saying to me: “Pain is temporary”.

‘Temporary, it is temporary. Oh my god it is horrible. Leave me alone! I am just going to cry.’

It even kept her up to the early hours as she added: ‘I woke up in the middle of the night – randomly – and I was like: “Oh my god I am really scared!” I just got really terrified of having to push it out.’

She gave fans a glimpse at her baby bump during a cooking video on Facebook.

The You Had Me star, who dominated the charts in the early 00s with her soulful voice, is much happier in her 30s than she was in her 20s.

She recently told Hello! magazine that her priorities in life had changed.

‘It’s not about selling tickets or merchandising, it’s just about doing it,’ she told the magazine.

‘When the money starts to run out, I’m lucky enough to be in a position where I can do a big organised gig that funds the next leg of the trip.’

In 2011 it was revealed that two men had planned to make an attempt on her life, but the singer refused to let it rule over her.

Joss told Metro.co.uk: ‘You can allow it to change you or you can continue on with your life. It hasn’t defined me at all, not even a little bit.’
