Kristen Stewart Made a Crop Top Eveningwear, Then Went Braless in an Open Tweed Jacket at Cannes

Kristen Stewart is out at the Cannes Film Festival—and bringing her best Chanel ensembles to France. The Crimes of the Future actress attended the film’s premiere and photo call in two stunning outfits. At the red carpet premiere yesterday, Stewart stepped out in an embellished crop top and cream skirt from the French fashion house’s spring/summer 2022 couture collection. Stewart wore her blonde hair up in a ponytail and put her toned core on display. Makeup was pretty and peachy:

At the photo call for the film today, Stewart went more preppy in a red Chanel tweed two-piece set. Stewart put a sultry twist on the outfit, wearing her blazer open. She accessorized with yellow shades and wore her hair down with an extreme side part.

Stewart’s film Crimes of the Future got both a 7-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival, and some people walking out of the screening because they couldn’t handle seeing the science fiction horror drama on screen, Variety reports.

Variety shared the film’s synopsis from Neon, which reads, “As the human species adapts to a synthetic environment, the body undergoes new transformations and mutations. With his partner Caprice (Léa Seydoux), Saul Tenser (Viggo Mortensen), celebrity performance artist, publicly showcases the metamorphosis of his organs in avant-garde performances. Timlin (Kristen Stewart), an investigator from the National Organ Registry, obsessively tracks their movements, which is when a mysterious group is revealed… Their mission—to use Saul’s notoriety to shed light on the next phase of human evolution.”

Stewart herself spoke at Cannes about how strange the film was to make. Vulture’s feature writer Rachel Handler tweeted that at a Crimes of the Future press conference, Stewart said, when discussing the complex allegory of the film, “We spent every day after work being like, ‘What the fuck are we doing?’”
