Lauren Burnham Gets Candid About Witnessing Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s Vasectomy Journey: ‘Awkward’

In a new YouTube vlog, the former ‘The Bachelor’ star shares that while he felt ‘100 percent certain’ in their decision for him to get a vasectomy, his wife had her doubts the night before the procedure.

AceShowbizLauren Burnham and Arie Luyendyk Jr. are always open to share things with her fans. “The Bachelor” couple detailed the former race car driver’s vasectomy journey in a new YouTube vlog that was posted on Tuesday, February 1.

“He was white as a ghost,” Lauren recalled about the morning of her husband’s procedure. He added, “I thought he was going to faint, He was literally ripping his hair out.”

Arie, however, disagreed as he said that going through the experience together was “more awkward than exciting.” To that, Lauren responded, “It was very awkward, for me too.”

The video also featured the couple, who shares 2-year-old daughter Alessi and twins Senna and Lux, explaining why they opted for a vasectomy instead of using other birth control methods. “Other than the fact that I birthed three children, had a C-section and all that, it was kind of his turn,” Lauren explained.

“I’m also very sensitive to hormonal birth control. Weirdly enough, it causes mild depression for me so that was hard for us when I’ve done that in the past,” she continued. “I’d get really sad and it’s not good for anyone.”

While Arie felt “100 percent certain” in their decision, his wife had her doubts the night before the procedure. “That was the first time we really felt our age difference,” Arie revealed. “I think it’s because I’m 40 years old, so I’m not young. If I was 30 I don’t think I would have gotten a vasectomy. I don’t want to be a super super old dad.”

As for Lauren, the 30-year-old claimed, “I just turned 30 and I wasn’t sure I was ready to close that chapter,” she said. “I also didn’t go into my last pregnancy with the mindset that it was going to be my last one. So I didn’t 100 percent soak it in. So the day before [the vasectomy], it really hit me.”

Arie and Lauren met for the first time in his season of “The Bachelor” back in 2017. At the time, Arie initially chose original winner Becca Kufrin over Lauren, who ended up as the runner-up of the season. He, however, decided to call off his engagement to Becca in order to pursue a relationship with Lauren. Arie and Lauren later tied the knot in Hawaii in January 2019.
