Love Island’s Olivia Bowen in tears as she explains why her arm is in a cast

Former Love Island star and horse riding enthusiast Olivia Bowen has explained in a video how her arm ended up in a cast as she was training for The Markel Magnolia Cup.

The star was set to take part in the horse racing event which is raising money for the Education Above All Foundation which supports women and children in their education.

In episode 2 of Olivia’s miniseries, she posted a video to her equestrian Instagram account which gave followers glimpses of her training so far. The reality star was seen in the video in tears as she explained that she was “launched into the air” during one of her horse rides.

Explaining to the camera what had happened, Olivia said: “We were just walking back and then he [the horse] just got excited and then I sat one buck and then he put a massive one in and just launched me unto the air and I hit the deck, then he ran off.”

She continued: “Then I was just worried he was going to run into the road but he’s fine”

Although someone was heard off camera saying: “don’t let it knock you”, Olivia admitted that it is “scary”.

Explaining more in the caption, the reality star penned: “I’ve broken my wrist, the bone is crushed throughout with breaks on each side. Honestly on this day I didn’t think it was broken I thought I’d just badly sprained it! So to me, it was get back on next week & keep going!

“Obviously it hasn’t worked out that way, you can see how much I was putting my heart & soul into this so it has been quite hard to get my head around.”

She then revealed that she is now “out of the race this year” due to the injury and said: “It’s even more irritating because I was soooo close to being ready.”

Olivia teased that it might be back on the cards for her to race next year before she finsihed off and wrote: “all I need to concentrate on right now is getting better & getting back to my girl Dolly. Cannot wait to get back on, 3 more weeks in a cast.”

Fans rushed to send their support to the star as one said: “You got this girl! It happens to the best of us! You can absolutely do this”, while another penned: “Sending loads of love gorgeous, you’ve got this Liv”.

A third wrote: “falls and injuries and bouncing back after them is truely the hardest part of this sport! don’t doubt yourself and don’t rush yourself, get well soon and you’ll be back in action in no time”.
