Millie Mackintosh cries as she details struggling with daughter Sienna’s ‘terrible twos’

Millie Mackintosh has candidly opened up about the 'terrible twos' that she is experiencing with her eldest daughter Sienna.

The former Made in Chelsea star, 32, who welcomed daughter Sienna in May 2020 and also shares three month old Aurelia with husband Hugo Taylor, 35, took to Instagram as she revealed it is 'not all sunshine and smiles' while parenting a two year old.

Millie shared a video to her 1.4million Instagram followers as she sat with youngest Aurelia while Sienna continued to call 'mummy' from the other room at their new London home.

The mum of two appeared to be exhausted as she put her hand over her face and gave an honest insight into parenting two under two.

Meanwhile Millie also shared a sun-soaked picture with adorable Sienna as the little one nibbled a sandwich during an outing to the park.

The former reality star wrote: "Sienna is almost two and my goodness don’t we know it! I mentioned this a while ago but the tremendous twos are a very real, and constant thing for us at the moment.

"Sienna is testing us whenever we need her to do anything from getting dressed, nappy changes, mealtimes, getting in the pushchair, bath time and bedtime, often resulting in her lying on the floor throwing her arms and legs around whilst screaming ‘no, no, no!’

Millie continued: "She spends half the day asking for ‘Daddy’, yet when he comes home from work she gets upset and lashes out at him. I’m trying to spend one on one time with her doing something special that she enjoys, but it’s really difficult when sometimes she doesn’t want to be with me."

She added: "I know she wants a reaction from us but I’m finding it really really hard to not react, be it with tears or laughter at how ridiculous the situation is, I mean who doesn’t want to get dressed to go to the park in the sunshine?!

"I know she is becoming her own little person and I want her to be a strong, independent little lady that knows what she wants, but I also want to get out of the house in the morning with a toddler that is dressed and has had her breakfast."

Millie also revealed that she found a 'great article' that gave tips on how to make the child feel they are taking charge along with 'using the art of distraction when needed'.

Sharing her tips with other parents, Millie added: "Also using the art of distraction when needed, and being consistent with ‘no’ but also saying ‘yes’ sometimes.

"I’m using these tips but sometimes it’s just nice to know you’re not alone and that someone else's two year old is just as difficult on a hard day.

"If you have any other words of wisdom please share, because parenting is bloody hard! Swipe for a little realness and believe me when I say, it’s not all sunshine and smiles over here!"

Millie was inundated with comments including her celebrity pals Lydia Bright and Binky Felstead who also have young children.

Lydia, who is mum to Loretta, two, added: "Aw darling I feel your pain. They go through some tough stages. You have two under two, whilst also being a working mum, the tears are totally understandable.

"Just remember nothing in life is forever. Loretta has some bad weeks then amazing weeks. It's all part of the journey, lots of love."

Binky, who is mum to daughter India, four, and Wolfie, nine months, penned: "It will pass."
