To the mischievous star, refusing to go easy on Giovanni Pernice is a cunning strategy to get revenge on Rose-Ayling Ellis’ behalf. Giovanni reportedly put Rose through the ultimate endurance test when the pair competed together on Strictly Come Dancing 2021.

It looks like Giovanni’s work ethic paid off, as they sailed straight to the top, winning last year’s Glitterball trophy.
The win made Rose the first ever deaf contestant to become the show’s champion.
However, John was all too aware of the challenges her partner’s fierce work ethic had caused her and wanted to reciprocate by working Giovanni equally hard when it came to gym sessions.
Giovanni had chosen John to assist him with all things keep-fit as he pledged to improve his stamina during the Strictly tour rehearsals.

Now, according to an Instagram post, it seems as though it’s payback time.
The slide featured a struggling Giovanni on the ground, appearing to half-laugh and half-grimace from all the exertion.
The caption read: “@rose.a.e I did this for you babe #revenge @giovannipernice.”
Meanwhile, referring to John, Giovanni had bragged: “Just so you know that by the end of the tour, I’m going to look like this guy.
“He’s training me, today is the first day – he’s got some muscle hasn’t he?”
The Strictly Come Dancing UK arena tour kicks off tomorrow and will last close to a month with 33 dates.
Meanwhile, John made his loyalty to Rose’s struggle as a deaf woman only too clear when he earnestly declared that, if it hadn’t been for changes in society for the better, she might not have had any kind of job at all.
“I was chatting to Rose on the day of the final in rehearsals and she made it quite clear that 20 years ago, a girl like her wouldn’t have even had a job,” he revealed during an interview on Good Morning Britain.
“That’s how far we’ve come and that’s how amazing she is to have broken down so many boundaries.
“So she, for me, is the worthy winner and I knew she was going to win it from the very start.”
Of course, John’s own journey hasn’t been free of challenges and difficulties either.
He experienced the stigma, along with partner Johannes Radebe, of being the first ever same-sex couple in the competition.
The internet flooded with vitriolic messages from trolls and viewers recalled events like their elderly grandmothers getting up and leaving the room in indignation when the pair took to the stage.
However, a jubilant Johannes, who made it to the final with John, has since described himself as “in love” with his co-star and explained that all the positive comments have outweighed the trolling by far.
Of the four, it might seem as though Giovanni had things the easiest – but then again, perhaps not if his work-out sessions are anything to go by.
The star has clearly been breaking a sweat – and no doubt fans will get to see the results of his hard work when he hits the stage later this week.
