Royal fans left ‘terrified’ as they spot ‘Grim Reaper’ at King Charles’ Coronation

Royal fans have been left shocked after spotting the 'Grim Reaper' at King Charles' Coronation at Westminster Abbey on Saturday.

Viewers watching the historic ceremony at home were quick to notice the mysterious figure, which appeared at the entrance to the Abbey during Charles and Camilla's crowning.

Many took to social media to share their surprise at the sighting, with some questioning if the alleged marking of death appearing was a bad sign.

Sharing a video of moment the dark figure appeared in the doorway, one social media user tweeted: "Anyone else just notice the Grim Reaper at Westminster Abbey?"

A second said: "Why is the Grim Reaper at the Coronation celebrations !!" while a third added: "Anyone else spot the grim reaper running through Westminster Abbey? #Coronation".

A fourth viewer said: "Good to see the grim reaper kicking about at the #coronation".

"Notice the Grim Reaper, or I am seeing things at Westminster Abbey during King Charles III coronation," a fifth person tweeted.

Others said they were "worried" about the sighting, while one person said they believed it was a "witch" not the Grim Reaper.

King Charles and Queen Camilla were crowned at Westminster Abbey on 6 May in front of over 2,000 guests, including the entire Royal Family aside of the Duchess of York and the Duchess of Sussex.

Many celebrities were also in attendance, including Katy Perry, Lionel Ritchie, Edward Enninful, Nick Cave and Emma Thompson.

The King was crowned by the Archbishop and anointed with holy oil, and he then pledged his commitment to serve the people of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth.

Following the ceremony, Charles and Camilla then began a procession back to the palace, accompanied by hundreds of members of the Armed Forces from the UK, Commonwealth and the British Overseas Territories, as well as the Sovereign’s Bodyguard and Royal Watermen.

This return journey took considerably longer than the King’s outward journey because the historic gilded Gold State carriage, which was drawn by eight Windsor greys, is so heavy it had to travel at a walking pace.

The celebrations will continue across the three-day bank holiday weekend, with the Coronation Lunch and Coronation Concert scheduled to take place on Sunday.
