Stacey Solomon’s sister Jemma – ‘I can call Stacey at 3am and know she’ll be there’

From organising her sisterStacey’shen party tohelping her plan her wedding to Joe Swash, it’s clear that Jemma Solomon is extremely close to her younger sibling. While the pair may not have always seen eye to eye growing up, they are often seen on each other’s social media accounts enjoying their time together.

But while people may be familiar with Stacey’s presenting work, 35 year old Jemma is a star in her own right with a huge social media following of her own as well as a successful label making business, The Label Lady. And now, the mum-of-three is getting set to release her debut book Love, Lists And Labels.

Talking to OK! as part of her very first photoshoot, Jemma, who previously worked as a nurse, opened up about her love for all things organisation, explaining that it’s something she’s always been drawn to. Even as a child, staying tidy came naturally to her.

“I like to think that growing up, I was the more organised sister. My siblings might say otherwise, but keeping tidy has always kept me happy,” she joked. “The highlight of my summer holiday was heading to WHSmith to buy a new pencil case and arrange my stationery.”

And it seems as though being organised is a Solomon trait, with Stacey also being known for her ‘Tap To Tidy’ videos, Pickle Cottage renovation clips and work on the BBC show Sort Your Life Out.

“Our love for organising is great too and we’re always bouncing ideas off each other,” Jemma added. “That’s not to say there’s no healthy sibling rivalry when it comes to who can have the best Christmas display.”

But it’s clear that Jemma and Stacey’s relationship goes beyond their love for tidiness and order and the pair have bothbravely spoken out about dealing with anxiety in the past. “I can pick up the phone at 3am and call Stacey and we’ll spend hours crying, or laughing, through an issue together,” Jemma explained.

Having first experienced anxiety 10 years ago, it’s still something Jemma experiences but has developed coping strategies – and organisation is one of them. “Organisation is a good distraction and keeps my mind busy,” she said.

“I find that by tidying through a cupboard, I physically have to move, label, empty, clean and refill objects. By the time I’ve done all that, my brain has forgotten about whatever was worrying me in the first place.”

Love, Lists And Labels by Jemma Solomon (Ebury Spotlight, £16.99) is out on Thursday and available to order now
