Cleaning fans are only just realising there's a hidden feature in your sink – and it's hiding so much dirt | The Sun

CLEANING fans have been left stunned after discovering that a feature in their bathroom is removable – and it's hiding lots of dirt.

Hazel Mckinnie and Claire Jenkins, also known as the Wee Scotty Cleaners, regularly share their cleaning hacks and tips on TikTok where they boast 86,000 followers.

In a recent video, they spoke about the difficulty cleaning dirt around the overflow hole in bathroom sinks.

And they, plus many more, were shocked to discover you can actually remove the metal seal.

Replying to the duo's video, one social media user said: "You do know they come off to clean?"

Testing it out for themselves, the cleaning duo responded: "Thank you very much for this one, because I did not know this.

"The amount of time that I spend getting all around that rim and someone said it comes off.

"And then look, it does come off.

"And that's the bit that you can't get to, so you can give that a wee spray [and] a wee wipe.

"That will take a wee while to come off, mind you but there we go.

"Did you know that that there came off. And you can wash all that bit there as well?"

They added: "So thank you very much for that wee tip. And I'm sure lots of people like me didn't know that."

Other cleaning fans are loving the tip, as one admitted: "I didn’t know that either thanks."

A second wrote: "I'm only 54 and didn’t know this."

And a third added: "Didn’t know that. Thank you."

Others, however revealed they already remove the cap as part of their cleaning routine.

"Yes I leave mine off now", one wrote.

While a second added: "Yes and it rots as well, easily broken though."

Hazel and Claire run their own laundrette and shop in Moffat, Dumfriesshire, called The Laundry Room.

And thanks to their viral success on social media they've been able to launch their own range of cleaning cloths.

Speaking of their hard work, Hazel said: "We get asked to clean all over the country. But we don't have time for that right now.
