I get so embarrassed telling people my twins' names – I love them and think they're normal but people make it so awkward | The Sun

A MUM-OF-TWINS has revealed that she gets embarrassed revealing her sons’ names to people.

Hannah Lockhart has one-year-old twins and said being their mum is her “new personality”.

The photographer named her tots Hayes and Grady and assured she loves the names.

But the pressure of other people passing judgement on her choices makes her feel awkward when revealing them to people.

Hannah explained on Tik Tok: “Something nobody prepared me for before I had children was that it feels slightly embarrassing to tell people your kid’s name.

“And not that my children’s names are embarrassing at all.

She added in the comments: “Maybe it’ll be different once they know their names and can introduce themselves.

“But until then it’s like I named an imaginary friend.

“I’m not embarrassed of their names.

“It has nothing to do with their names.

“It’s the feeling of vulnerability of sharing my literal heart and soul!”

Fellow mums flocked to the comments to agree with Hannah, with many saying they feel like they’re presenting a project to their school class when telling people their tots’ names.

One quipped: “Yes! It's like you are presenting your project to the class.”

Another added: “YES! And feeling like you have to justify or clarify why you named them that.”

One mum weighed in that the worst thing is when you have to repeat your child’s name because someone didn’t hear you the first time.
