WITH the cost of living going up it may be hard to keep up with the costs of what you are used to having – like a good old cup of tea.

And if you are one to have a couple a day, it may feel like you have to hold back on your kettle usage due to energy bills going up. 


But thankfully, savvy homeowners are coming together to share their money saving tricks.

And one TikToker, who goes by the name of costoflivingcrisistips and has over 22k followers, has revealed exactly how to get multiple cups of tea, without having to boil the kettle endlessly. 

They shared a video and it has since gone viral with over 2.1million views, and wrote: “Boil the kettle once a day to save £££.” 

Firstly they boil the kettle with the maximum amount of water needed.

Then they added three teabags into a pot of tea, before adding the hot water into the pot. 

They filled a big thermos flask up with the brew.

That way, they were able to have “brews all day.” 

And over a thousand people commented on it sharing their thoughts.

One wrote: “I’ve started doing this! Boil in the morning and fill a massive flask with hot water. Brews all day for less money!”

Another added: “This is what they did in the 70s. Boiling eggs and bags of rice in the kettle at the same time!!!! watch this space.”

A third said: “You can get kettles that are a flask btw. I thought I'd came up with a class invention but nah (SIC) Google told me different.”
