Riverdale Season 5 Brings Us Prom Dresses, Cute Cardigans, and Sweet Sets to Shop Now

The ever-changing storylines of The CW’s Riverdale are intriguing enough, but what brings us back week after week is the fashion sense of main characters Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart), Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch), Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes), and Toni Topaz (Vanessa Morgan). The start of season five brings us through the characters’ final days of their senior year of high school and graces us with amazing prom outfits — plus the prospect of an upcoming graduation ceremony.

Veronica’s style has always been more sophisticated and elegant compared to the other characters, incorporating more intricate textures such as velvet, jacquard, and metallics. Her dresses tend to be from higher-end designers, such as Alice + Olivia and Attico. Betty. stays true to her girl-next-door style, with sweet and playful looks from the likes of Miu Miu, Valentino, Chloé, Derek Lam, along with more affordable brands like Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Aritzia, ModCloth, and Forever 21. Toni’s style stands out, as she expresses herself with a more edgy, confident look (see: that Sherri Hill two-piece she wears to prom, which is pretty much the epitome of her aesthetic). Finally, Cheryl always appears fierce, bright, and a little bit intimidating. Her outfits easily convey her mood; she opts for red when she’s in control and wears cooler tones when vulnerable.

But these final days of high school may lead us to the end of the characters’ fashion sense as we know it. With a predicted seven-year jump coming our way this season, it will be interesting to see how wardrobes are adjusted for young adulthood.
