WITH the cost of living grinding everyone down, it’s never been more important to find ways to save on everything from travel to food.
So when one woman bought a fruit and veg box that only set her back £1.50, she was left in complete amazement at what she had bagged.
Taking to the Facebook group ‘Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group’, she posted a photo of her massive selection.
Laid out on her kitchen counter, she had nine large carrots, five bananas, seven peaches, six giant potatoes, three onions, two courgettes, two apples and one large mango.
“The items from the lidl £1.50 fruit and veg box,” she wrote in the caption of the post.
And people were left amazed as it racked up 139 likes with one person calling it “excellent”.

“From potatoes to tomatoes, these boxes are filled with fruit and vegetables which are still good to use, but would have otherwise been thrown away.”
