‘I had Brazilian butt lift because my ex liked pics of women with curvy bums’

An influencer finally admitted she had a Brazilian butt lift (BBL) – after lying to fans about it for an entire year.

Mikaela Testa, 23, denied she had undergone cosmetic surgery as she was "embarrassed" about why she decided to have it done.

But after months, she confessed to plumping her butt via the procedure that's often described as one "the most dangerous in the world".

She told the White Fox After Hours podcast that she had "two rounds" of surgery – and also underwent "fat transfer to the hips".

But the revelation didn't go down too well with some people – who claimed she had "blatantly denied" having surgery in the past.

In a follow-up post, Mikaela explained why she didn't want to admit it at first.

She revealed she was "embarrassed" that she was so desperate to change her body.

Mikaela explained: "For an entire year, I told all of my followers I lied about having a BBL, I’d tell all of my followers I’d had no plastic surgery when in reality I was just lying.

"It is one of the most disgusting things I’ve done in my entire life, and I spend every single day regretting and trying to reverse the damage that I’ve done, just to myself, but all the young girls follow me as well."

The social media star claims one of her exes used to "repeatedly like, share and repost" photographs of girls who'd had such surgeries.

It led her to feeling uncomfortable in her own skin.

"Girls have insecurities," she added.

"It’s pretty common for a girl to be insecure about herself when she sees constant perfection online.

"Just like any girl would, you get worried, insecure and start looking at yourself differently.

"A million things start running through your mind, and suddenly you want to get a BBL."

Soon after, she found herself in a doctor's office where she was told she "didn’t have enough body fat for the surgery".

But her insecurities landed her in "hot water", and she opted to have a procedure that could have potentially risked her life.

"I ate McDonald’s in bed next to my boyfriend every single night right before I went to sleep just to gain enough weight to be good enough for him," added Mikaela.

She said it was all "in her mind" – and claimed her ex never asked her to have the surgery.

Even though she wanted to share the news with her 2.3 million followers, Mikaela kept it on the down low as she worried people would judge her.

Mikaela said this was her reason for lying – and she "regrets" not telling the truth.

She continued: "I felt embarrassed. Not only was I insecure, but I was also insecure about the fact I was getting surgery to fix it."

It may have been hard for her to open up, but many people have said they understand why she did it.

One person commented: "Can relate to the pressure we feel as women to be good enough for men."

Another added: "Taking accountability is the most freeing feeling and I’m so proud of you."

A third also replied: "We all make mistakes, it’s life."
