DEAR DEIDRE: PANIC attacks are taking over my life.
I’ve always considered myself a strong person but I’m feeling completely beaten at the moment.
I am a 49-year-old woman and have a 22-year-old daughter and a son of 19, who expects me to do everything.
I keep drinking and dialling my ex – he hardly ever picks up.
I’m still working as a receptionist but can hardly muster the energy to get myself in every day.
Last week I took two days off to try and rest but it was anything but restful.
I ended up driving both kids around all weekend and running around after my son.
Normally, none of this fazes me but last weekend I had numerous panic attacks. It isn’t like me.

They are frightening but you can help them pass by breathing slowly. Read my support pack Coping With Panic Attacks.
Sit both your kids down and explain why everyone needs to help in your home.
