Inside Prince William and Kate’s swanky royal transport to Caribbean

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's Caribbean tour is well underway, with the couple having landed in Jamaica, their second stop, on 22 March.

Kate, 40, and Prince William, 39, spent three nights in Belize before heading off to Jamaica, and are set to finish their tour with a trip to the Bahamas.

The royal couple arrived at Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, and stepped off the plane to an official welcome.

To transport them during their Caribbean tour, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are using the RAF Voyager, an Airbus A330.

The plane is typically used by government ministers, however, is also given to the Royals when they are on tour.

Upon landing in Belize, Kate and William offered a rare glimpse inside the jet on their social media account.

Inside the plane, is luxurious business class seating and enough room for all their staff and crew.

The plane can seat up to 58 people in business-class, but there is also a designated VIP section that Kate and William are likely to make use of.

There is also an economy section usually reserved for members of the press.

In 2019, Kate and William were using the plane when it hit turbulence over Pakistan which results in two aborted landings.

Sky’s royal correspondent Rhiannon Mills said at the time: “Other journalists and reporters could see lightning and storms out of the window as the plane bounced around.

“The crew tried to land at two airports in Islamabad but decided the storm meant it wasn’t safe to land and it was safer to fly back to Lahore.

“As soon as we landed, Prince William came to the back of the plane to check that the press pack was okay.

“I have flown a lot, especially on royal tours, but never experienced turbulence like it.”
