There are plenty of luxury items for celebs to miss when they enter the ITV I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! castle. Namely it’s photos of family members, hot food and a warm bed, but the itch (quite literally) to get into a hairdresser’s chair is also said to be strong.
I’m A Celeb 2021 star Louise Minchin has proved a pamper appointment was at the top of her list as she’s already been spotted at a hair salon indulging in a cut and style appointment. The 53 year old took to Twitter to update her 235,000 followers on the results of her time at the salon.
“Castle locks gone,” she wrote, accompanied by a look at her fresh waves and shorter length.
“WOW love new hair,” wrote one user, while another commented back: “Because you’re worth it.”
A third mused: “Oooh pretty new hair! Lovely.”
The former BBC sofa resident looks amazing with her glossy blonde hair, blunt ends and a soft wave. The look is undeniably a far cry from the style she sported in the castle – which is no wonder, considering running water is barely a feature in the frosty Welsh abode.
Louise isn’t the only celeb to have missed beauty treatments during her stint on the ITV show. Frankie Bridge, who finished in third place, spoke out this week about “hating” the look of her hair during the weeks she was in the castle.
“"I have such flat, straight hair and it seemed to just flick out, but everyone was obsessed with thinking I was doing something to it. I genuinely wasn't,” the mum-of-two told the Daily Mail.
"I got to wash my hair and I had to just leave it to dry and that's how it dries. We weren't allowed a hairbrush. They are so strict in there, they check your pockets."
Frankie also let slip that there was one “luxury” item they were allowed, after much begging from the contestants. Lip balm.
"They are so strict we only managed to get lip balm because everyone's lips were so sore, but we had to beg and say 'please, please, can we have some lip balm’,” she said.
