Love Island producer shares show secrets from XXL beds to midnight snacks

The Love Island lineuphas been released and the countdown this June 6 is officially on.

Ahead of this year’s series in Mallorca, the show’s producer teased fans with some secrets and changes for this year’s show.

Each year the singletons get cosy in the villa bedroom, however for series eight there’s a change. To allow for plenty of comfort, singletons will be able to snuggle down in XXL beds.

Love Islandexecutive producer Mike Spencer toldThe Sun: “I think they were, they were always a 'snuggle' but now they're a double.”

Discussing shenanigans in the bedroom, he laughed: “No, we’re absolutely not, we don't discourage or encourage. It's down to the individuals.”

Speaking about whether the new beds are friendly for bedroom antics, he added: “There’s quite a hard edge.”

Mike also teased that The Hideaway is set to be “sexier than ever” this year.

Over the years viewers have wondered what the contestants eat as they’re rarely seen cooking.

Mike has revealed that this year, the contestants can enjoy a midnight snack with a kitchen packed with plenty of treats.

“The fridge is always stocked with things like chicken and pasta so sometimes they might randomly cook themselves a pasta during the day.

“They've got toast, they've got snacks, they've got ice lollies. They make their own breakfasts, they've got fruit and yoghurt and eggs.

“Lunch and dinner are catered its quite a lot, catered for everyone, everyone’s particular dietary requirements. It's quite a lot of food.

“Usually about midnight there's a midnight snack – but anything they want food wise they can have.”

This comes asLove Island bosses are working around the clock to complete the luxury villathe singletons are staying in.

Whole sections of the Mallorcan venue still remain in disarray ahead of the start of the new series.

ITV acquired the villa back in January and have had various teams on site since March, including locally sourced builders to renovate the property and make it fit for filming.
