Man paid tribute to late pal by tattooing his eyeball blue and ‘it didn’t hurt’

A TikTok content creator with more than 200,000 followers has shared the inspiration behind his “electric blue” eye tattoo.

The man, who goes by ‘Vilonious’ online, initially found success on YouTube before more recently posting videos on TikTok.

Vilonious insists his career hasn’t been affected by his tattoos and modifications, and also works as a photographer, taking pictures of products for companies.

The content creator got his eye tattooed in 2012, and in a Q&A on his YouTube channel in 2016, he revealed the inspiration behind his extreme body modification.

“A lot of people want to know why I picked blue,” he began.

“I personally think the only colours that look cool in eyes are blue and black.

“I really really almost did both my eyes black, but I got talked out of it, and the only other option in my mind was always blue.

“My best friend in the whole world was one of the first to get his eyes tattooed and he had blue. And I looked at his eye for two years before even considering doing mine.

“And it became such a normal of my everyday life seeing his, that I became really comfortable with having mine done.

“And when the opportunity arose, I jumped at it and I did it.

Explaining that his friend had opted for a blue tattoo because of the video game ‘Dune’, Villonious recalled: “So I did mine because I looked up to that guy, and unfortunately he passed away a couple of years ago.

“It’s kind of cool to carry around. He actually tattooed my eye, so I get to keep it forever; a fun little gift from him.”

And, while the content creator was keen to stress that the decision to get an eyeball tattoo is not one to be taken lightly, he remembered that his procedure was fairly straightforward.

“The first question is always, ‘did that hurt?’ and the answer for me was, ‘no’,” he suggested.

“I’ve heard from other people that have had it done that it was the most excruciating thing they’ve ever had, and I’ve heard from other people that it’s nothing.”

The YouTuber also has a split tongue, which he claimed in a TikTok video is his “favourite body modification”.

In the video, he suggested: “If I could only keep one of them it would be my tongue… Almost instantly after getting my tongue split, it felt way more natural to have two, than just one. I can’t remember what it felt like to have my tongue stuck together.”
