Spoilers: Jac prioritises the future of Holby City over her health

The good news, following the shock ending of last week’s Holby City, is that Jac Naylor (Rosie Marcel) is not dead. But as tonight’s episode starts, it’s clear that she’s very ill indeed.

She wakes up on the floor of her office after having a seizure, but typical of Jac her first thought is that she’s supposed to be giving a presentation to convince Regina Marriott (Karen Ascoe) that Holby City hospital has turned itself around and should be taken out of special measures.

With Nicky (Belinda Owusu)’s help, Jac does make it to the meeting, but Max (Jo Martin) notices that she’s far from being her usual efficient self. Can Jac manage to push through her symptoms to give her presentation, or is she gambling with her own life?

Unaware of all this, Fletch (Alex Walkinshaw) is happily convinced that Jac can ‘bring it home’ and get Holby out of special measures. He’s so confident in her abilities that he’s already booked Albie’s for the celebration, and the staff are looking forward to a party – but will they still be in the mood to celebrate by the end of the day?

Meanwhile, Sacha (Bob Barrett) and Donna (Jaye Jacobs) are surprised to see Dominic (David Ames) back to work so soon after the death of his mum Carole. He insists that he’s fine, but it’s clear that he isn’t when a patient’s history brings up some uncomfortable memories for him and he reacts in an unprofessional and inconsiderate way.

And Nicky is finding motherhood a struggle when once again Amelia (Lucy Briggs-Owen) has to step in to help out with baby Juliet.
