Richard Madeley has been working as a broadcaster for more than three decades.
During this time, he fronted This Morning with wife Judy Finnegan for 13 years which cemented him as a household name.
Unsurprisingly, the television presenter’s bank balance has been as prosperous as his career. But how rich is Richard Madeley? Let’s take a look…
It has been reported by Celebrity Net Worth that Richard has amassed a personal wealth of £3.6million, built from his work in the entertainment industry.
Richard started his career as a local news journalist before landing his first TV spot in 1988 when he and Judy first joined This Morning as anchors.
The pair hosted the daily show for 13 years until 2001, when they left to present a similar show on Channel 4 called simply Richard and Judy.
Though it was never as popular as its predecessor, Richard and Judy lasted eight years on Channel 4 before it was moved to Watch and then finally ended in 2009.
Richard is also an accomplished radio presenter and can be heard filling in for Michael Ball on BBC Radio 2.
The dad of two recently filled in for Steph McGovern on her show Steph’s Packed Lunch after she had to isolate during the pandemic.
Richard has said that he enjoys filling in for people because “I have all the fun and very little of the responsibility or flak,” he told Metro.
The TV star is also a novelist and has published a number of popular books including three fiction novels. He and wife Judy also run their popular Book Club where they make reading recommendations.
He has also made money from appearing on reality shows such as I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here and The Circle which both come with impressive pay checks.
After guest presenting for Good Morning Britain, Richard has been tipped as the favourite to be Piers Morgan’s permanent replacement on the ITV morning news programme.
The veteran TV host is believed to be hosting the show alongside Susanna Reid in June which will serve as a trial run to see how his performance goes down with viewers.
Richard has said he would be “bonkers” to turn down the presenting gig.
Richard is due to appear on a special episode of Loose Women today, where the 65-year-old will chair the Loose Men panel.
An all-male special of the show will hear Richard and his panellists discuss issues like male body confidence, mental health and what constitutes cheating in a relationship.
Diversity star Jordan Banjo and former EastEnder Martin Kemp are also due to appear on the show.
