Emily Ratajkowski leaned into American fashion theme at the 2021 Met Gala by honoring love with a custom, romantic gown by Vera Wang — and she wanted to have the tousled hair to match.
Working with hairstylist Jennifer Yepez, she did just that by using products that you can pick up on your next Target run.
"At the fitting, she put her hair up and it just didn't look right, so she took it down and that's how the idea came about," Yepez says on how the pair decided on the final hairstyle. "She messaged me saying, 'Hair will be down,' so we thought we would keep it full and gorgeous and beautiful and effortless, which is very much Emily's vibe."
To create the volumized look, Yepez reached for none other than TREsemmé products to give the new mom a sexy, tousled finish, including the brand's Dry Texture Spray, Extra Hold Mousse, and Keratin Smooth Heat Protect Spray. She finished off with Hidden Crown Hair clip-in extensions in color 2 and 3 in 22 inches for extra length.
To recreate the look at home, Yepez recommends starting off by using TREsemmé's Keratin Repair Shampoo and Conditioner, then applying the brand's keratin heat protectant all over the hair, followed by the Extra Hold Mousse.
"Next, blow dry your hair, creating clean sections from the nape with a medium round brush," she says. "Once your hair is dry, make a clean section starting at the nape. I like to tease lightly where I am clogging to place the hair extensions."

If you already have long hair, then you can skip this next step. However, if you want to add in some extensions, Yepez recommends starting from the nape of the neck then working your way up to blend the hair in flawlessly.
"Once hair is all clipped in, I like to take a flat iron and make slight waves in large sections, adding just a few bends throughout to give it some movement," she adds.
Yepez finished the styling session off with TRESemmé Dry Texture Spray and Tres TwoExtra Hold Hair Spray to keep the fabulous look in place.
