JURRIEN TIMBER has dismissed all rumours suggesting that he was advised to reject a move to Manchester United.
The Ajax star, 21, was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford during the early stages of the summer transfer window.
However, he decided to stay in Amsterdam which led the Red Devils to sign Lisandro Martinez instead.
In the wake of the transfer saga, reports suggested that Timber had been deterred from joining Man Utd by Holland boss Louis Van Gaal.
The former United manager had been vocal on the defender's situation before the deal had been ruled out, hinting that it would not be the best move for him.
In June, he said: "I think a player with his qualities can play in the Prem. That’s not a problem.
