Arsenal transfer news: Top five strikers to sign for Gunners after missing out on Vlahovic

ARSENAL will be forced to look elsewhere if they are to sign a striker after Juventus agreed a fee for Dusan Vlahovic.

The Gunners were hoping to land the prodigy in a big-money move but the Serbian striker opted to join Serie A powerhouses Juventus.

Betfair have compiled a list of the top five strikers most-likely to join Arsenal in this window.

Luka Jovic 11/4

Arsenal could turn to Real Madrid misfit Luka Jovic.

The Serbian is the favourite among a list of strikers to join the Gunners after struggling to rediscover his form at the Bernabeu.

He was prolific for Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring 27 goals in a season, before his move to Los Blancos.

But all in all, he's only scored three goals for Madrid since 2019 and has since returned to Frankfurt on loan but has only mustered four goals in 18 games this season.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 7/2

Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be the poacher Arsenal are crying out for.

But it may be difficult to agree a deal with Everton who need all the firepower they can get to help them avoid the drop.

Calvert-Lewin's aerial threat and physicality could be what Mikel Arteta's side needs, to help add a new dimension to their squad.

But Arsenal are believed to be willing to hold out for the forward until the summer where it will be easier to make a deal happen.

Alexander Isak – 4/1

The Gunners have been linked with Real Sociedad's prodigy for some time now and they may make a move for Isak after missing out on Vlahovic.

The Sweden international attracted a lot of attention at the Euros before going on to score eight goals in 25 appearances for Real Sociedad this season.

Arsenal are believed to be hopeful of agreeing a deal for Isak which is lower than his reported£75million release clause.

Ivan Toney – 9/1

Ivan Toney was a revelation in the Championship and he has gone on to show he can cope in the Premier League.

He has caught the eye with many displays this season for the Bees and has gone on to score seven goals in 25 games in all competitions.

Similarly to Calvert-Lewin, Brentford will be reluctant to lose their target man with a potential relegation scrap looming in the second half of the season.

Ollie Watkins – 20/1

Ollie Watkins has reportedly caught the eye of Mikel Arteta since his £28m move to Aston Villa.

Watkins has admitted that he is a boyhood Arsenal fan and that could help the Gunners lure him from Villa.

The Villains are showing huge ambition with the signings of Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Digne and are not in a situation where they need to offload their no. 1 striker.
