Conor McGregor has hilarious interaction with reporter over ‘red panties’ celebration claim ahead of UFC return – The Sun

CONOR McGREGOR shared a brilliant chat with a reporter who made a "red panties" quip ahead of his fight with Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone.

The Dublin fighter is preparing to make his UFC return in the early hours of Sunday morning.

And Notorious was caught off guard by a reporter when asked about celebrations.

The reporter in question said: "We all know how Donald (Cerrone) and his wife will celebrate the fight but how will you celebrate if you win and what will you do if you lose?"

McGregor – clearly taken aback by the question – asked the reporter: "How will Donald and his wife celebrate? You said you know how."

To which the reporter replies: "With the red panties…"

THROWBACK

This is, of course, a throwback to an interaction between McGregor and Rafael Dos Anjos where McGregor said: "When you sign to fight me it is a celebration.

"You ring back home, you ring your wife [and say] 'baby we've done it. We're rich baby. Conor McGregor made us rich. Break out the red panties.'"

McGregor was clearly amused by the red panties reference responds: "Jaysus, ye mad thing!

"Here, they'll celebrate win or lose, don't you know what I mean?

"I'm going to have a good night. I have abstained from my Proper 12 Whiskey for a good while now, it has been five or six months it must be at this stage. It feels like five or six years.

"I'll have a good night and get a few sips and then spend the next day with my family and my kids and then get back into training.

"Red panties every night for me! Even if I'm not fighting."

McGregor's dad Tony has backed the fighter for Saturday's bout, saying that he is in the best shape of his life.

He told SunSport: "Conor is in the best shape of his life, the training camp has been absolutely phenomenal.

"He’s physically and mentally the best he’s ever been, his preparation has been superb.

"We’re heading over on Thursday and will be there for the weigh-ins.

"And a message from me to all his fans: let there be no worried faces, because Saturday night in Las Vegas, we hold all the aces!”
