F1 star Nicholas Latifi forced to flee as his Williams car sets on FIRE at Bahrain pre-season testing

WILLIAMS Formula One driver Nicholas Latifi was forced to flee his car after it set on FIRE at pre-season testing in Bahrain.

Latifi's rear brakes appeared to fail as he went into Turn 12, causing the car to spin off the track.

The back end of the Williams car caught fire and the session was brought to a grinding halt with a red flag.

But as a fire marshal tried to put the flames out, there was a small explosion.

The marshal was initially startled but continued to do his job before Canadian driver Latifi joined in with a fire extinguisher.

F1 is set to get back underway on March 20 in Bahrain.

Verstappen won't be actively taking part in the docuseries.

On taking part, he said: "No, I won't change my mind.

"I think that was already ruined after Season One. I think I'm quite a down to earth guy, and I just want it to be facts and don't hype it up.

"I understand of course it needs to be like that for Netflix, that's what every series on there as well or documentary or whatever you call it, it's just not my thing.

"I'll probably watch it and see how over the top it is, and just continue with my life. I'll probably watch some other documentaries on Netflix."
