NEWCASTLE UNITED have formed a SEVEN-MAN transfer shortlist after meeting with the club's wealthy Saudi investors.
Boss Eddie Howe used the owners' £94m spending spree in January to steer Newcastle away from relegation concern.
And according to the Mirror, co-owner and chief director Amanda Staveley has met with the Saudi backers over the last fortnight to discuss another splurge of the treasury this summer.
The Toon became the richest club in world football last October when Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund took over, increasing the club's worth to a jaw-dropping £320 billion.
Newcastle were keen to sign Lille defender and Dutch international Sven Botman this summer, but AC Milan have entered advanced talks with the centre-half and look odds-on to win his signature.
Eager not to miss out on another target, the Toon board have assembled a seven-player wish list to attack the window as soon as it opens.

Newcastle have identified needs at centre-back, defensive midfield and centre-forward but are also reportedly in the market for a new young goalkeeper.
After being linked with Manchester United, Leeds' Kalvin Phillips has now been earmarked to anchor the Toon midfield, alongside Brighton stalwart Yves Bissouma.
Another Man United target Darwin Nunez, who scored for Benfica against Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday, is firmly on Newcastle's radar.
Everton hitman and England international Dominic Calvert-Lewin is another attacker piquing Newcastle's interest ahead of the summer.

Howe is also keen to reunite with Bournemouth defender and former workmate Lloyd Kelly.
The Magpies are also monitoring the availability of English goalkeeping duo Dean Henderson and Sam Johnstone, who could provide competition for number one Martin Dubravka.
The clear emphasis from the board is to recruit young talent rather than experienced veterans, in pursuit of a future, star-studded dynasty.
