TYSON FURY “almost feels Mexican'” after revealing he will fight for the WBC “Mayan Belt” against Otto Wallin.
The Gypsy King faces the unbeaten Swedish southpaw on September 14 in Las Vegas – with his rematch against heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder set for February.
Ahead of the Sin City showdown Fury, 30, revealed he will fight for the WBC Mayan Belt – a title created for certain high profile fights.
Mexican superstar Saul “Canelo” Alvarez won the Mayan belt against Daniel Jacobs on May 4, when he also added the IBF crown to his WBA and WBC middleweight titles.
The WBC explained the belt was a "unique masterpiece which symbolically represents the eighteen centuries of Mayan Culture in the Year of the Mayans."
Another Mayan belt was set to be issued for Canelo’s proposed return this month, though the 28-year-old failed to find an opponent.
Instead the middleweight will return at the end of the year, with WBO light-heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev in line to face the Mexican.

Meaning Fury will be the next man to fight for the Mayan Belt.
He said: “Big thanks to @wbcboxing for selecting me to fight for there (sic their) prestigious maya belt, massive honour for me, I almost feel Mexican.
WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman said: “The Mayan belt is not a championship but a mere trophy and recognition to the winner of the fight.”
