Charlie and Ella reunite in Hollyoaks amid minibus crash tragedy?

Charlie Dean (Charlie Behan) and Ella Richardson (Erin Palmer) grow close once more in Hollyoaks during a school trip which ends in tragedy.

The former couple are thrown together when designated driver John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) loses control of the minibus after closing his eyes.

The deputy head teacher, as viewers know, has been struggling with his reliance on alcohol as of late.

Prior to departing on the school trip, he opens up to Prince (Malique Thompson-Dwyer) about the reasons behind his relationship with the booze.

Prince subsequently takes on the role of guardian, as he makes it his mission to keep John Paul away from the drink.

But as the day of the camping trip arrives, John Paul finds a bottle of vodka in his puffer jacket. Doing his best to keep it concealed, he remains visibly on edge.

Soon enough, tragedy then strikes, as JP closes his eyes.

Afterwards, he regains consciousness, horrified to discover what has transpired. Olivia takes charge, as she rounds up the kids from the van.

New pictures, shared exclusively with Metro.co.uk, see Charlie assisting former girlfriend Ella, as he tends to her wounds following the crash.

But is a reunion on the cards?

The duo went their separate ways after Ella suffered a devastating miscarriage. Charlie said some incredibly cruel things in the aftermath, and ultimately broke up with Ella.

Whether or not they will get back together, however, remains to be seen.

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 7pm on E4, or catch new episodes first on All4.
