Leanne Battersby (played by Jane Danson) and Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) may have had a rocky relationship in the past but after buying shares in the Bistro the couple seems to be stronger than ever. In previous months, the couple made an exit from Coronation Street after getting involved with a dangerous drug gang. However, with drug dealer Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) behind bars, Nick and Leanne have been able to rebuild their life on the cobbles. And, more recently the pair teamed up with unlikely partner Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) to run the Bistro. With their life back on track and things going well for the couple, will Leanne get her happy ever after if Nick proposes?

Nick and Leanne have been married once before when the couple eloped to Scotland as teenagers.

However, their marriage soon fell apart and Leanne’s life spiralled out of control.

Since then, poor Leanne has been unlucky in love, and she has had more than her fair share of failed relationships.

She eventually got married to Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) and became the stepmother to Peter’s son, Simon (Alex Bain).

Although, as Peter battled a drinking problem, Leanne fell into the arms of Nick once again.

While unbeknown to her, Peter had also embarked on an affair with Carla Connor (Alison King).

She also had a one-night stand with Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) in 2016 which resulted in them having baby Oliver together.

In 2020, Oliver was diagnosed with mitochondrial disease and passed away after a long legal battle with the hospital.

Despite her grief, Leanne was able to start living her life again with Nick and Simon, and they now seem to be at their happiest.

The actress who plays Leanne has addressed whether viewers will see her walking down the aisle sometime in the near future.

Speaking to TV Times Magazine, she began: “After everything they’ve been through, that would be lovely.

“But only if it ended a nice way, because usually when they get married, it doesn’t.

“We’ve seen the reasons they are together, and they do love each other. They’ve grown up and they’re not having affairs anymore, so if they’re going to share their lives together, it would be lovely.”

In scenes which aired last week, Debbie tried to trick Nick and Leanne into offering her more money for the Bistro.

However, the couple did not fall for her plan. Instead, they came up with an idea of their own in a bid to get Debbie to lower the asking price – and it worked.

Although, it hasn’t been plain sailing since they stepped foot back in the Bistro and the trio have had their disagreements.

“I expect respect from the people I work with,” Debbie said to Leanne. “But this is utter…”

“Disrespect,” Leanne chipped in as Nick walked through the door.

Nick seemed to think the duo were having a row, although, it couldn’t have been further from the truth.

“I will not be made a fool of, Leanne,” Debbie continued as Leanne hit back: “Well neither will I.”

“Whatever is going on,” Nick weighed in. “Just breathe. Just breathe.

“Leanne, I told you, you might have to compromise.”

“No,” she argued back. “I won’t compromise the Bistro or the food.”

Despite Nick thinking the duo had fallen out, Leanne and Debbie were ranting about one of their suppliers “ripping them off”.

Corrie fans were also delighted to see Leanne and Nick back at the Bistro, with many praising the trio for their comedy act.

Taking to social media, one tweeted: “I like that Nick and Leanne are back in The Bistro together (alongside Debbie).” (sic)

“Nick and Leanne back in the Bistro where they belong,” another penned as a third added: “If anyone deserves to get what they want, it’s Nick and Leanne.”

A fourth wrote: “Hahaha Debbie Leanne and Nick in the Bistro, comedy at its finest.”

A fifth fan commented: “I’m so glad Nick and Leanne are back in the bistro (alongside QUEEN Debbie of course).” (sic)

Everything seems to be going so well, but are wedding bells on the cards for Leanne and Nick?
