Coronation Street's Sally and Tim flee Weatherfield to save their marriage from poisonous Geoff

CORONATION Street's Tim and Sally Metcalfe are going to leave Weatherfield to save their marriage from poisonous Geoff's influence.

The couple – who are played by actors Joe Duttine and Sally Dyvenor in the ITV soap – are at war over abusive Geoff.

Tim has refused to accept his dad's abusive nature, no matter what evidence is in front of him, and Sally refuses not to support her friend Yasmeen who snapped over her traumatic treatment.

Viewers have watched over recent weeks as Geoff has done his best to destroy his son's marriage – and Tim has let him.

But next week something happens that makes Tim realise his dad's interference is bad news – and so he and Sally makes a shock decision.

They pack up and decide it's time they left the cobbles for a while and go and stay with Sally's sister Gina.

Will time apart strengthen their marriage? Or will it give Geoff free reign to scheme back on the cobbles?

While they are away Tim could confess to having a letter with his mum Elaine's address on it – and agree to find her.

She had scrawled her phone number on the only paper she had with her – a letter in her handbag.

But after finding it in the cab office, Tim didn't rejoice – instead, furious, he screwed it up and threw it onto the floor.
