Coronation Street fans think they have worked out how Emma Brooker will leave the cobbles after actress Alexandra Mardell announced she had quit the ITV soap.
Alexandra, 28, revealed on Monday that she was leaving her role as Emma and it is believed her character will remain onscreen until April.
Taking to social media after the news was announced, soap watchers were quick to predict what Emma's exit storyline could be with several viewers linking it to Ted.
Only recently, Emma and Faye Windass covered up pensioner Ted's death after they accidentally hit him during a driving lesson.
While PC Craig Tinker is now in cahoots with both Emma and girlfriend Faye after they confessed to the crime and he decided to keep it a secret from the force.
However, Emma has been feeling guilty since the incident and even attended Ted's funeral, where she spoke to his beloved grandson.
And to make matters worse, an e-fit of Emma has been circulated online after the postman, that Emma received a package from at Ted's flat, gave evidence.
Soap watchers think Emma will either be caught or will hand herself in over Ted's death, resulting in the character going to prison and acting as an exit storyline.
One person said: "Farewell @asmardell27 aka Emma Brooker Could guilt over poor Ted actually cause her to finally hand herself in potentially? #Corrie."
A different account put: "I wonder will Emma go to prison for what happened to the old fella coz I can’t see her going on the run!! #Corrie."
Another follower wrote: "Perhaps she'll confess to running Ted over, so Faye doesn't get blamed, and go to prison."
While a different account added: "I wonder if it's to do with the death of the old man?"
Announcing her exit on Monday, actress Alexandra, who plays Emma, said: "Playing Emma, on the most iconic street there is, has been the best experience of my life. Four years have gone so fast.
"Compared to other cast members I still feel like a newbie, which makes my decision to leave all the more difficult. But I feel it’s the right time for me.
"I can’t thank everyone at Coronation Street enough for welcoming me and trusting me to tell so many wonderful and heartfelt stories. And of course for the friendships. When I see pink, I will always think of Emma."
Coronation Street continues on weekdays on ITV.
