Deal or No Deal legend Noel Edmonds shocks fans with huge career change after New Zealand move | The Sun

NOEL Edmonds has revealed a huge career change after re-locating Down Under.

The former Deal Or No Deal anchor, 74, upped sticks for New Zealand in 2019 after the Channel 4 quiz show wrapped three years before.

Yet Noel who was first to be booted out of the I'm A Celebrity jungle five years ago has now opened up on how he makes a living.

During a rare trip to the UK, he told a businesswoman in Somerset how he now owns a cafe Down Under.

Owner Sherry Downes told Somerset Live of their encounter and said: "Initially, I asked him if I could take a photo and then I cheekily asked whether he wanted to get behind the counter and serve some customers.

"He happily obliged and did about 20 minutes and people just loved it – he was an angel.

He clearly is in tune with the old wive's tale that talking to plants can help them grow, and has tailored the programme to help boost blooms across the Commonwealth country.

Noel, who lives in New Zealand with his wife and son told the Mail on Sunday at the time: “We ran an experiment with two plants, one of which we neglected and the other we played Positively Plants to.

“The difference was absolutely amazing, and then we played those tones, because it's all about tones, we played those tones to the plant that didn't look so good, and it perked up again.”

Meanwhile, last year we exclusively reported how Deal Or Deal will be subject to a re-boot.

The original series, fronted by Noel, ran on Channel 4 for 11 years until 2016.

Insiders have revealed ITV are now working to reboot the popular show which saw contestants choosing one of 22 boxes and gambling against the banker in a bid to walk away with the highest sum.

Popular ITV star Stephen Mulhern has been approached as the favourite to front the show.

A source said: “Deal Or No Deal was absolutely huge back in the day and pulled in millions of viewers.
