Ed Bailey's secret exposed as he faces ruin in Coronation Street | The Sun

ADDICTION takes a toll on Ed Bailey next week and he struggles to keep it together.

Next week in Coronation Street, his brother Ronnie figures out he has been up to no good with his money but will he be able to help him?

Weatherfield residents were horrified to see the once-admired Stephen Reid spiral out of control and hold his other half Jenny Connor hostage with a broken bottle to her throat.

The criminal's actions were all uncovered, from his financial antics to his three murders, but his reign of terror ended in a devastating twist as Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) moved him over with his taxi.

Three characters were brought into the police station for questioning – Underworld boss Carla Connor (Alison King), her PA Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) and Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell).

Next week, matters go from bad to worse for Michael as he desperately tries to get his job back – and it's all down to his father Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges).

Coming up next week on ITV, having placed Michael’s £1000 on a horse, Ed watches the race on tenterhooks.

When the horse wins, Ed punches the air in delight and, when he arrives home, he stuffs the cash in a bag in the hallway to hide it from Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) and Michael.

Unaware of its contents, Michael grabs the bag as he heads out to Underworld to try and get his job back.

But he is stunned when DS Swain arrives and wants to interview him about the cash Stephen stole.

Having answered DS Swain’s questions, Michael opens his bag and is baffled to find a huge wad of cash.

DS Swain clocks the money and demands to know where it came from.

Ed is horrified to see Michael being taken away in a police car under suspicion of working with Stephen to defraud Underworld.

Owning up to his mistakes is difficult for the builder but, in later scenes, he is given no other choice when his brother Ronnie (Vinta Morgan) confronts him.

Ed becomes agitated with Ronnie questioning him about the friend who lent him money.

Ronnie suspects he’s been gambling for longer than he’s letting on and he demands Ed tell him the truth.
