Billy Fletcher (played by Jay Kontzle) is set to rekindle his romance with Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) over the Christmas period. The Emmerdale star will have to pluck up the courage and admit to serial killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) that he’d rather be with Dawn. When he dumps Meena and gets down on one knee to propose to Dawn, will she say yes?
The on-off couple Billy and Dawn look set to reignite their romance in upcoming scenes on the ITV soap.
However, evil Meena will sink to new lows by telling Billy she’s pregnant with his child in a desperate effort to keep him away from Dawn.
But when Billy breaks the news to Dawn about his unborn child with Meena she appears understanding and still wants to give their relationship a try.
With Billy more convinced than ever that Dawn is the right woman for him, will he ask for her hand in marriage over the festive period?
Could a wedding be on the cards in the New Year for the Emmerdale lovers?
Express.co.uk and other publications exclusively spoke to Billy actor Jay Kontzle about his blossoming romance with Dawn.
Speaking about sharing a kiss with Dawn while he’s still dating Meena, the actor said: “He’s quite taken aback because he’s still in a relationship with Meena and he’s not into the world of cheating so he needs to make a decision.
“He can’t just go off with two of them, he needs to cut one-off and he needs time to think more than anything about who to choose.
“Obviously, he has massive feelings for Dawn and he can’t cut around corners.”
In upcoming scenes, Billy makes the decision that he wants to be with Dawn, but Meena is not the kind of person to take being dumped lightly.
Jay added: “But it’s a strong decision and he feels he’s made the right decision and he feels like it will pay off. Whether it does or doesn’t we will soon find out.”
In a bid to keep Billy, Meena pretends she’s pregnant with his baby, which Jay described as a “foot in the grave for Billy”.
“He’s a family man and he needs to be there for his kid so that’s thrown a spanner in the works and he’s in a position where he might lose Dawn completely,” he added.
However, he decides to be honest with Dawn about the pregnancy, which he doesn’t realise is a lie, and she is very accepting of it and still wants to be with him.
Jay revealed Billy is set to propose to Dawn on New Year’s eve, but will she say yes?
Speaking about getting down on one knee when the moment was right Jay said: “[The proposal] was spontaneous definitely.
“It couldn’t have come at a better time and it’s a lovely moment.
“It’s a New Year, a new start and a new beginning to Billy and Dawn, and it was just done on a whim.
“But he thought it could be a fresh start for the two of them. It was quite emotional, but it was nice.”
So will Dawn say yes, and if she does can Emmerdale fans expect a wedding in the upcoming months?
