First look at Lord Of The Rings TV series as release date confirmed

Amazon Prime Video has confirmed a release date for the hotly-anticipated Lord Of The Rings television series, and unsurprisingly, there’s still a while left to wait.

The fantasy drama’s official Twitter account announced that the show will make its debut on the streaming service on September 2, 2022, so set those calendar alerts.

The exciting news was revealed alongside a first-look picture, showing a character stood before what appears to be the city of Tirion.

‘On September 2, 2022, a new journey begins,’ the caption read.

Naturally, the internet was sent into a frenzy, with many fans pointing out what seemed to be the Trees of Valinor in the background.

‘I’m guessing that’s the two trees of Valinor in the background?!’ wrote one. #Knowing that we’ll see at least a little bit of the first age on a screen has me out of my mind. Lol this means so much to me. I’m literally crying over a fictional tree.’

Lord Of The Rings will premiere on September 2, 2022 on Amazon Prime Video.
