GMB’s Susanna Reid tells off Ed Balls for name mistake in awkward TV blunder

Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid told of guest host Ed Balls after he mispronounced their co-stars name during an awkward on air blunder.

During Monday’s visit to the ITV studios, the former MP and the 51-year-old broadcaster woke up the nation with the latest news in the headlines this morning.

But the show got off to a rocky start today after the 55-year-old former politician incorrectly pronounced his colleagues name as he introduced her segment on the show.

As they discussed Lioness’ victory on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! last night, Ed introduced Kiara Durken’s coverage of the reality show before ITV bosses shared her insightful VT.

Incorrectly putting stress on the wrong vowel, he said: “Kiara” which the mum-of-three quickly corrected him on.

“It’s Kiara not Kiara?” he asked, before adding that he liked pronouncing the name both ways.

After airing her three-minute story on the ITV show, the dad-of-three joked: “Kiara did well there” as he threw a cheeky grin to the camera.

It was at this point that Susanna gave him a stern warning on air, saying: “She gets very upset if you mispronounce her name on air”.

But the former MP didn’t appear to look to worried as he mumbled under his breath: “I know, well, you know” before he playfully shrugged his shoulders.
