Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers is "getting stronger every day" amid his cancer battle, according to his colleague and good pal Si King.

The celebrity chef, 64, left fans devastated in May by revealing he had been diagnosed with cancer.

Dave is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment and appearing on Thursday's episode (October 13) of This Morning without his co-star, Si was asked for an update on his condition.

Replying to hosts Phill Schofield and Holly Willoughby, Si said: "He's doing OK.

"All the numbers are going in the right direction.

"He's still in the trenches with his chemo but he just gets stronger every day which is a great sign."

Speaking earlier this year, Dave confirmed the side effects of chemo had caused him hair loss.

The TV chef could later be seen sporting a bald head during a podcast appearance, where he revealed he had been left with sore eyes and a loss of tastes and smells due to the side effect's of his chemotherapy treatment.

Dave told Kate Thornton's White Wine Question Time: "I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy but when I get through this, I'll never whinge again about anything.

"I'm going to embrace life and everything it's got to offer."

Confirming his cancer prognosis earlier in the year, Dave previously told fans: "I may be a baldy biker for a while so it's just a warning, I don't want to make a fuss about it.

    "I look alright bald actually."

Speaking at the Bolton Food and Drink Festival in August, Si gave another update on Dave.

He told the crowd: "I just wanted to say, from Dave and I, thank you so so very much for all of the goodwill and support, all the messages really do not go unnoticed.

"He's doing canny but as you appreciate he's right in the trenches of it all at the minute but he's getting there, thank God."

This Morning airs from 10am on weekdays on ITV.
