HARRY Styles stripped off and plunged into the freezing sea as he filmed scenes for his new movie.
The former One Direction star, 27, has a body covered in tattoos but they were all covered up with make-up for the role.
In reality, Harry has more than 60 inkings including a topless mermaid on his arm, two swallows on his chest and an anchor on his wrist.
The star bravely braved the icy waters, which were just eight degrees, and swam around for 15 minutes.
He was then picked up by a dinghy and helped out the sea by two crew members in wetsuits.
Harry was seen laughing as he emerged before wrapping up warm in a giant coat and Crocs with a hood and a towel over his head.
The star's tattoos cover both arms, his torso, and even his thigh, which means that he would have spent a lot of time in make-up getting each of them covered up.
Harry plays gay police officer Tom Burgess in the movie, which is set in 1950s Brighton.
In one scene Harry and The Crown's Emma Corrin, who plays his wife, kiss outside a pub in the town.
Set in 1950s Brighton, the film sees Harry's character Tom marry Marion – unable to be himself – but has an affair with museum curator Patrick Hazelwood, played by David Dawson.
The Sun revealed in April that Harry was filming the movie, which is based on a 2012 novel by Bethan Roberts and is set in both the 1950s, when being gay was illegal, and the 1990s.
Producers have beefed up security on the film, aware that Harry's presence on set is likely to draw big crowds.
An insider explained: "They know that his and the rest of the cast's safety is paramount so that needs to be taken into account, but on top of that they will need to be able to shoot the scenes in peace and quiet, without a load of fans in the background.
"So they are really shelling out for a massive security unit to ensure filming can go ahead without a hitch."
