Hollyoaks has something of a reputation when it comes to impressive stunts, and this year’s is set to be one of their most ambitious to date, with boss Lucy Allan revealing that they’re ‘really going for it’.
The Channel 4 soap, which often leads the way when it comes to explosive and unmissable stunt work, will be going big this September, with a catastrophic event causing chaos.
A number of separate storylines are brought together by said event, which takes place in the village, with many of our mainstays facing death as a result.
‘I mean, we’re going for it!,’ exclaimed Hollyoaks’ Executive Producer when discussing the upcoming stunt with Metro.co.uk. ‘We are absolutely going for it.
‘What we really wanted to do was to have a stunt centred around our community. I know that there have been some extraordinary ones away from the village, but we wanted to do something that encapsulated so many of our stories, pulling them all together in one space, and within the iconography of Hollyoaks itself.
‘We’ve missed the big production values, that we can normally bring to the show. It’s like that itch that we’re wanting to scratch, getting back out there and going big and bold. It’s definitely big and bold!’
Consider us excited! In addition to excitement, however, fans should also be very worried about their faves, with Lucy hinting that death could be on the cards for some.
‘There is definitely a huge amount of jeopardy,’ she said. ‘There are also, in true Hollyoaks style, some unexpected twists and turns along the way.
‘I think you all know that, our big bad is back, in the form of Silas Blissett! So no-one is ever safe.’
Be afraid, be very afraid. But also very, very excited.
We’re keeping shtum on what exactly it is that transpires, but we’d recommend not missing a single second of all the drama to come.
It’s going to be one intense autumn in the eponymous village, that’s for sure.
Hollyoaks airs weekdays at 7pm on E4, or stream first look episodes daily on All4.
