I felt The Wanted's Tom Parker at his funeral – it was a beautiful, special day in honour of my pal, says James Argent

TOM Parker's close pal James Argent says he felt The Wanted star was there at his funeral.

The former Towie star praised it as a "beautiful, special day" in honour of the singer, 33, who died on March 30 following a brain tumour battle.

Arg first met Tom in 2016 while competing on Channel 4's The Jump.

They lived together for six weeks in Austria and formed a close bond.

The close pals went on to star on The Real Full Monty together where they stripped in front of a crowd for cancer awareness.

Describing Tom's funeral yesterday, Arg said: "It was obviously extremely sad at times.

"It was tough for everyone however, there were really special, beautiful moments throughout the day and it really felt like Tom's presence was there from the music and some of the speeches.

"You had that element of Tom's banter and charm and charisma.

"It couldn't have gone any better. The sun was shining."

Tearful crowds lined streets for The Wanted star after his wife Kelsey invited fans to the emotional service.

The singer revealed in October 2020 that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma.

He had begun radiotherapy and chemotherapy – but the tumour was inoperable and the cancer claimed his life last month.

During the private service, a pre-recorded message from devastated Kelsey was played.

She shared anecdotes including about how the pair first met at a nightclub before Parker shot to fame.

"From that moment I told everyone I wanted to marry Tom Parker," she said before becoming tearful.

The congregation erupted into laughter when she added: "Tom told me he was going to be famous and wouldn't have time for a girlfriend, but he wouldn't leave me alone."

She added: "I will treasure every memory because life with you was never dull. You were always coming up with songs, new game shows and we all know how much you loved an invention – I bet you were gutted you never made it on Dragon's Den. Marrying you was the best day of my life… soulmates that's what we are."
