On Sunday night’s Strictly Come Dancing, the remaining celebrities anxiously waited to see if Tess Daly confirmed whether they were staying in the competition. As the BBC host called out the names of the stars, James Bye admitted afterwards that he thought he and Amy Dowden would have to dance again.

After it was announced that Jayde Adams and Molly Rainford would be dancing again, James told Claudia, he had prepared himself for the dance-off.

“You were convinced we’re going to be the dance-off because that was an extraordinary reaction,” Claudia said.

“I was warming up,” the EastEnders star admitted before adding: “I was ready to go again.

“So for everybody who voted, thank you so much.”

The actor seemed to get emotional as he continued: “Look how much it means for you to have invested in us and put us through we can’t thank you enough.”

Turning to Kym Marsh, who was in the dance-off last weekend, Claudia said: “You looked really emotional.”

“I was,” Kym replied. “I honestly couldn’t believe it.

“My heart was pounding out my chest, so honestly, thank you so much to everyone that’s voted for us because it means the world it really does.”

Before the judges made their decision, Jayde and Molly had to perform again in a bid to stay in the competition.

Molly and her dance partner Carlos Gu performed their couple’s choice routine to the Grange Hill Theme Tune.

Meanwhile, Jayde and Karen Hauer performed their Charleston to The Ballad Of Barry and Freda (Let’s Do It).

Despite their best efforts, all four judges chose to save Molly, and so Jayde was sent home.

When asked about her time on the show, Jayde broke down in tears as she paid a sweet tribute to Karen.

“This has been the best thing I have ever done in my life and I will carry it to my grave,” the comedian began before adding: “And it has been an absolute pleasure working with you [Karen] and learning about so much that will go into my own stuff, in my own work.

“You are one of the most gifted people I have ever worked with Karen.

“And everyone on this show, said it to me, when I had you, they said, ‘You’ve got the best one’ sorry everyone, and I did and you are fantastic and this has been such an honour.”

She continued: “Not only have I got to be on Strictly Come Dancing but I got to have Karen Hauer, you are amazing, thank you for everything!

“I’ve done shows before, and nothing holds a candle to the way that this show is run.

“It is an incredible thing to be a part of as a performer, we are so looked after, and in this industry where so many people aren’t looked after, this show is incredible, well-done everyone.”

The remaining eleven couples will take to the dancefloor next when Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday at 6.50pm for its Halloween Special, with the results show on Sunday at 7:20pm on BBC One.
