Katie Price's Mucky Mansion will go ahead despite backlash and recent arrest

Channel 4 is still planning to air Katie Price’s TV shows despite her recent arrest.

The 43-year-old star – who was arrested on Friday on suspicion of breaching a restraining order – has two programmes set to air on the network, including one series in which she will renovate her home, and another focused on mental health.

Confirming plans to still air the projects, a Channel 4 spokesperson added to the Mirror: ‘The series was filmed last year and follows Katie’s renovations of her family’s home.’

Some fans have been critical of the two programmes following the star’s legal troubles.

Police were called to Price’s Sussex home on Friday amid reports that she had sent an abusive message to her ex-husband Kieran Hayler and his fiancée, Michelle Penticost.

Meanwhile, in December she was handed a 16-week suspended sentence for drink-driving while she was disqualified and did not have insurance, as well as a two-year driving ban following a crash near her home.

After being confronted by police at the scene of the collision, Price was heard saying ‘I took drugs, I should not be driving, I admit it all’, a court was told.

Price said she was ‘sincerely grateful nobody was hurt’ and that she was ‘incredibly sorry’ for her actions.

She had her sentenced adjourned on the condition that she attended the Priory Centre and didn’t commit any further offences.

The former glamour model – who is also set to appear on RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK Vs The World on BBC Three – won’t see her programmes impacted, regardless of her legal issues.

Meanwhile, Channel 4’s senior commissioning editor has previously opened up about the broadcaster’s decision to work with Katie following her drink-driving conviction.

Clemency Green explained: ‘I’m thrilled to have commissioned Captive Minds Media’s first projects for Channel 4.

‘In Katie Price’s Mucky Mansion, we see a different side to Katie and learn more about her battle with mental health, as well as seeing her close bond with her family. It’s compelling viewing.’
