Laura Whitmore to host new dating series just weeks after quitting Love Island and slamming show | The Sun

LAURA Whitmore has signed up to present a new dating show, just ten weeks after leaving Love Island and slamming the "exhausting and tough" programme.

The Irish host will narrate Date Night for Amazon Prime Video, a series that follows singles as they hunt for love through a dating app.

Laura announced she was leaving Love Island on August 22 after a record-breaking eighth series for ITV2, where Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Culculoglu were crowned winners.

She wrote online: "There are certain elements of the show I’ve found very difficult that cannot be changed some due to the format, including the flying back and forth to South Africa along with my new conflicting projects."

But later the mum-of-one, who is married to show narrator Iain Stirling, delved deeper.

On the Distraction Pieces podcast Laura said: "I had to also think about it for my own mental health side, because I love the show, but it comes with a lot of s**t.

"It’s a bit exhausting and it’s tough. I saw when Caroline Flack worked on the show what she got every year and I never knew how she handled it. I always thought, 'Jesus, she’s so strong.'"
