Love Island fans beg for format change as they demand full voting control

Love Island fans are desperate for a format change and have argued that the public vote should be strictly left in the hands of the viewers.

At the end of Tuesday night's episode (February 28), voice over Iain Stirling made an announcement that many were longing to hear.

He said: "Now it's time to have your say. Head to to the app where you can access voting and vote for the couple you think are the most compatible."

Iain added: "Those with the fewest votes are at risk of being dumped from the island."

But although fans were excited to finally have their input following several days of no voting, viewers urged producers to let them have the final say and said they shouldn't leave the decision of who goes to the islanders.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: "I swear to god Love Island you better not let the islanders save a couple either, it’s already enough that you haven’t given us a vote for nearly two and a half weeks, it’s time for us to have our proper say!"

Another wrote: "What's the point in a public vote 'cause they're just gonna leave it down to the islanders anyway."

A third penned: "If they let us vote then let the islanders choose I’m gonna be so angry. We need a double eviction."

Meanwhile a fourth echoed: "Allow the public to vote and make sure the Islanders have zero control over it."

Although there have been a number of occasions in which the islanders have been forced to choose which contestant deserves their place in the villa, the last public vote allowed viewers to have full control.

During episode 26, Ellie Spence and Jordan Odofin were dumped from the island love.

Sharing her thoughts on her Love Island experiences, Ellie said she thought she was "just about to find" her husband, so was "sad to be leaving" the show.

Meanwhile Jordan said: "Similar to Ellie, I was trying to find a wife but you know, I enjoyed my time in the villa. All good things must come to an end, so I'm excited to see what's out there for me."
