Love Island star Brad McClelland has no reservations about breaking couples up

Brad McClelland might have looked innocent as he burst onto our telly screens with his first Love Island VT, explaining in his sweet Northumbrian accent that he lives with his nana and her little dog – but there's a lot more to the hunky labourer.

And Brad has revealed to Daily Star that he is definitely up for breaking another couple up if he thinks he's found The One.

When asked if he has any reservations about driving a wedge in between a coupled up pair, Brad simply replied: "Nah.

"At the end of the day, people are going on the show for various reasons, and they'll be open to a lot of things," the hunk continued. "The more I've thought about it, the more I think I can find someone in there that's literally just for me and something could work on the outside."

Brad went on: "If I'm in there and there's a lass that I find attractive and I have time to talk to and I get along with, and if she's with someone else but I feel as if that's someone for me – then you've just got to go for it.

"Otherwise, if you let the opportunity pass it's gonna be one of those things when I get out and think, 'I could have been better with her'.

"Basically, if the opportunity is there, take it. Explore it. If it doesn't work, then so be it."

Brad also said that he doesn't have a particular game plan for when he enters the villa, as being himself has gotten him far enough already.

"Being myself is getting us as far as I have in live to start with. It's got us a great group of friends, I'm a well respected and well liked person around my area, and that's just being myself.

"So going in there, I'm not gonna be any different. If it doesn't work, at least I've been true to myself," he explained.

The chiseled Adonis isn't even afraid of his nana's reaction to his time in the villa – as she's "not blind to that side of things".

"My nana is very down to earth, she's very real. She knows that sort of stuff happens at my age," the cheeky chappie said.

But he added that she might opt to skip the programme entirely in favour of her favourite soaps. "She'll watch the show at the start, but Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, Coronation Street and EastEnders is more her sort of thing!" he joked.

"She was thinking I was going to be in there by myself, and then she wondered if my friends were going with me," Brad chuckled. "If she's watching I'm sure she'll be fine whatever I do, I'm sure she'll stand by us."

Brad even revealed that his nana was actually responsible for his "perfect" teeth.

"I've never had a brace, my nana always refused. She said people have wonky teeth because of dummies, and always used to kick off with my mam and brothers and sister because 'it'll ruin their teeth'! She'd say, 'Look at Brad's teeth, he never had a dummy!'

"If you look closer I've got a few chips and that from titting around when I was a young'un, but other than that I just take care of them.

"You can tell a lot about someone by their teeth."
