Love Island's Marcel Somerville marries fiancée Rebecca Vieira in Portugal

Love Island star Marcel Somerville has married fiancée Rebecca Vieira in a glamorous ceremony in Portugal.

The pair said I do after a two year engagement, with Marcel popping the question at their gender reveal party for their son in August 2020.

The former Blazin’ Squad star welcomed his first child with Rebecca in January, just five months after the couple got engaged.

Now the happy couple have shared their vows in Portugal, where Rebecca’s family is from, and posted sweet behind-the-scenes pics on social media.

Before the ceremony, Marcel shared a video of himself getting a ‘wedding day trim’, as he quipped about ‘looking fresh.’

Over on Rebecca’s Instagram, along with reposting pictures of their guests arriving in sunny Portugal, she shared a sweet gift given by her husband-to-be in a ornate box reading: ‘For my beautiful wife on our wedding day.’

She also shared snaps getting her hair done, and her bridesmaids preparing for her big day.

Their son, Roman, also appeared on her social media, in adorable pics posing before the ceremony.

Later in the day, Marcel shared a snap of the pair after the ceremony, of both of them in their wedding car, holding glasses of champagne.

He added: ‘Just married!’

Meanwhile, Marcel’s co-star Jonny Mitchell from series three in 2017, shared gorgeous pictures of the special day, including pictures of Marcel walking down the aisle with his mum.

Jonny also shared clips of Rebecca being walked down the aisle, looking like she stepped straight out of a fairy-tale in her stunning white gown.

The happy news comes days after Marcel paid tribute to his new wife on her birthday, writing: ‘Happy Birthday My Queen! Literally the most amazing person I’ve ever met in my life. Seeing you reach another year of life fills my heart with joy! I feel like these are the most blessed years I’ve ever had and I hope it’s the same for you!

‘Over the years of knowing you I’ve seen you flourish as a friend, a girl friend, a fiancée, a mother and soon to be a wife! And I can’t wait to see you grown even more. I love you beyond words! Your love called to me and from that day I wanted to take care of you.

‘The same way love has touched us at time when thing weren’t the brightest. The love we found saved us and brought us here. I can’t wait to marry you… Happy Birthday Beautiful I Iove you.’
