Olivia Attwood ‘warned by Love Island producers’ after questioning booze rule

Former Love Island contestant Olivia Attwood has lifted the lid on the show’s secretive drinking rule, and admitted that she was warned about pestering the producers in attempt to get more booze.

The amount of alcohol islanders are allowed to consume while in the villa has been a constant source of speculation.

In an attempt to prevent fiery outbursts, producers allegedly banned the cast in 2019 from having any drinks after Meghan Barton Hanson reportedly nabbed other contestants’ allocation.

Olivia shot to fame when she caused carnage in the Majorcan villa during the reality show’s third series, and she recently told the Call Her Daddy podcast that she had also been warned about her own alcohol consumption by the producers.

“On my series, I can’t speak for other series because we were all balls to the wall crazy so we might have been more limited than others, but we have two glasses of wine a night or beer,” she recalled.

“So all that stuff I’m doing I’m basically sober, I’m just insane… Could you imagine if we were all liquored up? It would have been like fight club.

“I questioned them every day to the point where they were like, ‘if you ask about it again you’re going to get a written warning’.”

And, Olivia addressed the subject of why the contestants’ alcohol intake is so heavily moderated, revealing that it was to ensure that the coupling up process isn’t impacted by booze-fuelled mistakes.

“What I was told in the beach hut, because I argued it, is that the show is about dating and about love, and they don’t want people doing stuff driven by alcohol and the next day waking up and being like, ‘I don’t actually like him, I only snogged him because I was drunk’,” she said.

“I’d gone from living on my own since I was 21 and doing what I want to being told, ‘you can't drink two glasses of wine’, it was a real hardship for my head to deal with.”

This comes as Olivia has starred in a new ITV docu-series, and was recently left open-mouthed by the size of a male porn star’s hefty moulded penis, as she learnt about the sex industry.
